PAUL & BRIDGET ABBOTT

How did we end up at a flight school in Spokane, Washington?  The short version is that before we were married, we each felt God called us to go overseas as missionaries. When we became “empty nesters” God opened the door for us to go to Costa Rica where we served as hosts of our mission’s community development center until 2022. Upon our return to the US we talked to a variety of ministry leaders and heard that there was a growing need for missionary pilots. Our heart’s desire is to invest our wisdom and experience in the next generation of missionary aviators and their families.

Our first step in this new adventure was to join Proclaim Aviation. The ministry sent us to Moody Aviation in Spokane, Washington, which is one of Moody Bible Institute’s undergraduate programs. Paul will be working in student services discipling students spiritually, mentoring and coaching in the area of life skills. He will also be doing member care with interns and staff. Bridget is an educational therapist and does testing and academic coaching. The couple is content to be back in the Northwest and closer to their three grown children and grandchild.
