AeroVital's First Job

AeroVital's first job
There was a break in the weather August 14th and Aero Vital had their first job to transport materials for a bridge building project in the Cabécar Reservation. It takes 9 hours to hike the rugged trail to Kableukä, but by helicopter it was a 10 minute flight. AeroVital was able to transport almost 4 tons of materials in less than 4 hours.  The construction of the bridge is being done in conjunction with Clinica Biblica Hospital, AeroVital, our mission, and people from Kableukä and the neighboring Cabécar communities.  Pray for good weather and safety September 14-20 when the bridge is scheduled to be built.  Pray for more work for AeroVital, also.

Paul with the kindergarteners
On Mondays I (Bridget) am usually teaching a two hour English class to 12 students in forth, fifth and sixth grade at Sikua Ditsä School, but this week Paul went with me.  He brought his tools, hung a mirror up for the kindergarten teacher, and the little kids enjoyed his attention.  Then he helped me with the conversational part of the English class.  It was great to have him!

Joel Stoll, Bridget, Paul, and Dr. Rebekah Jones
Last weekend there were 16 Cabécar women at the Puentes de Vida (our maternal-infant health promoter project) class.  Dr. Rebekah Jones was a guest speaker and gave a presentation about dental health.  She speaks some Cabécar and, with the help of translators, was able to prepare her talk in the women’s native tongue.  She also used photographs in her presentation to illustrate principles of dental health and what can cause problems.  The women were thankful for the new information that they can share with family, friends, and neighbors.  Pray for Rebekah and her husband, Joel Stoll, as they await funds to purchase equipment and materials needed to open the Dental Clinic our mission is starting in Grano de Oro.

Cabécar babies need surgery
Recently two Cabécar babies were born with cleft palates.  They and their mothers are currently at the Children’s Hospital in San Jose preparing for their first surgeries.  One of them will have surgery soon, but the other still has to gain weight before they can operate on him.  Please pray for their moms as they are far away from home, family and everything familiar.  Pray also for the babies and the medical staff caring for them.

Thank you for your prayers and financial support.  We consider each of you a vital part of our team.  Let us know if there is anything we can be praying for you about.

Serving Him,
Paul and Bridget

  1. As always we enjoy reading your update and knowing how we can specifically pray for you and the ministry. Our summer was so crazy that when I came to read this month's report, I realized I had never come to read the July one. How great to hear, Paul, that you had a good report from the neurologist and are doing better physically! Praise the Lord!

We have just begun home schooling and Levi will be attending school outside the home this year. It begins next week. He is a bit nervous, but it is a great school for him, a small Christian based school where they work with kids right where they are in every subject.

Take care and know that you are on our daily family prayer list. Love, the Schneiders

  2. It is very interesting to me to read ways you are sharing Christ with the Cabecar. My husband and I walked to the area once for the missionary orientation that Peter Jones directed.
